CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE

Herbs

Chinese herbs are an integral part of TCM. There are over 300 Chinese herbs in common use, including plant roots, stalks, leaves, barks, flowers, seeds, fruits and minerals etc. Each herb has its particular healing functions and is used for specific purposes. Chinese herbs are prescribed on diagnosis to improve the immune system, to rectify the imbalance of Yin and Yang, and to help restore the body to its normal physiological functions. Herbal treatment includes formula herbs in the forms of herbal tea, concentrated powders, patent herbs such as pills, granules, tablets, capsules, liquids and syrups. External herbal treatment includes creams, lotions, tinctures, plasters and washings.

At the Zhong Jing TCM Clinic, we use only the best quality herbs to guarantee the best result. They are dispensed within the clinic for each individual patient.

Chinese herbs come in different forms and your prescription will be changed from time to time depending on your progress and needs at each stage of your treatment, or different phase of your menstrual cycle for women.

Patent herbal Tablets:

Herbal tablets are one of the common forms of Chinese herbs. They are convenient to take, and are especially suitable for professional people and people travelling regularly.

Concentrated Herbal Powders:

They come in as single herbal powders, and are prescribed and prepared by our clinic for each individual patient. Simply just dissolve the powders in the boiled water and drink it as a cup of tea. They have stronger effect than the tablets and can also be taken away with you as necessary.

Dried Herbs:

Dried herbs are the original and traditional form of Chinese herbs and are still widely used. They are the strongest, most powerful and effective option. They are prescribed and prepared by our clinic for each individual patient, and then you boil up the herbal mixtures in the water to make it a herbal tea (decoction). They are particularly suitable for patients with long term illnesses or complicated conditions.
